OVERVIEW
The School of Arts and Languages is known for its high quality teaching and research in a wide range of Arts and Humanities-related disciplines. To achieve its main targets of becoming one of the best schools that produce graduate of very high calibre both regionally and internationally, the School has started offering postgraduate programmes in its 4 proposed departments from Masters to PhDs. In this perspective, more programmes geared towards the current job markets globally in Applied Linguistics and Literature, Publishing and Performing Arts are under construction and review process.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To be admitted to the ‘MA programme in Translation & Interpretation Studies’:
(1) Possession of Lower Second grade or its equivalent, in either Arts or Science backgrounds, but with proficiency in at least two of the five languages, namely English, French, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi and Kiswahili.
(2) Satisfactory success of an entrance test to measure candidates’ oral and written proficiency in their working languages.

APPLICATION PROCESS
(1) Online application using the “Students’ Portal ‘link on www.ur.ac.rw and clicking on New Application.
(2) Payment of an application fee of Frw 10,000 after getting an application number generated automatically.
(3) Submission of hard or soft copies of application files to the Offices or emails of the School Registrar or Coordinator of Masters’ Programmes.

NEW STUDENT INFORMATION
(1) Majority of postgraduate programmes are run in Kigali.
(2) Tuition fee is paid in installments on the semester basis.
