Dr Télesphore Ngarambe, Senior Lecturer in Translation and Interpreting, School of Arts and Languages (SAL), College of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Rwanda, started teaching General English courses in 2000 in the former NUR. After completing his MA in Translation in the University of the Witwatersrand (SA), he integrated the Department of English, Option of Translation and Interpreting in 2006 as a lecturer of Translation and Interpreting – related components. He obtained his PhD from the University of Rwanda in 2014. His PhD thesis is entitled: Translatability of Customary Laws: The Case of Rwanda’s Gacaca. Ngarambe’s main teaching and research areas include translation and interpreting, linguistics and literature, ICT, culture, communication, literacy and public policy. He has also been a practising professional translator and interpreter since 2005.
